There have been numerous examples throughout the Asian continent of successful countries rising to power through governance competence. However, when you review the current landscape of the African continent, that list is painfully sparse.

In this episode, our host John Akhile, author of Unleashed: A New Paradigm of African Trade with the World, explains why governance competence is a key element lacking from the success of most African countries. John gives a nod to Paul Kagame of Rwanda and several examples from Asia, but urges that African leaders must step up to the plate and do more.
